Director, President, Chief Executive Officer and Interim Chairman of the Board
Mr. Tong joined LDK Solar in January 2007. Mr. Tong has over 10 years of experience in managing operations of companies in the solar industry. Prior to joining our company, Mr. Tong served as General Manager for south-east Asia business development with GT Solar since 2004. He was the Executive President of Commerce of CSI in 2004 and Vice General Manager of an affiliate of Tianwei Yingli from 1999 to 2004. Mr. Tong received a diploma in Industrial Economic Management from Renmin University of China in 1988 and a diploma in English from Hebei University in 1998.
Secretary of the Board, Executive Vice President, and Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Lai joined LDK Solar in August 2006. He has very extensive experiences in accounting, financial management, strategic planning and corporate governance. Prior to joining our company, Mr. Lai served as Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Silicon Storage Technology, Inc. (SST) of Sunnyvale, California. He also worked in the Silicon Valley for various high technology companies as CFO since 1990. Before that, he served as a financial controller for Dataquest, Inc., a Dun & Bradstreet Corporation company of San Jose, California. Mr. Lai graduated from Tamkang University of Taipei, Taiwan with a bachelor degree in Business Administration, he also received an MBA degree from Chinese Culture University and another MBA degree from San Jose State University.
Senior Vice President, Chief Technology Officer
Dr. Wan joined our company in February 2007. Dr. Wan has over 15 years of experience in research and development in silicon and materials engineering. Prior to joining our company, Dr. Wan was a Research and Development Manager at GT Solar in New Hampshire, USA from October 2005 to February 2007 in charge of DSS furnace research and development. Prior to that, he was a Research Associate of the Saint-Gobain Northboro R&D Center in Massachusetts from January 2005 to October 2005. From April 2000 to January 2005, he was a Senior Applications Engineer at GT Solar in New Hampshire responsible for design and development of crystal growth furnaces. Dr. Wan received a Bachelor of Science degree in materials engineering from University of Science & Technology of China in 1986, a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Science & Technology of China in 1989 and a PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering from Aachen University of Technology, Germany in 1997.
