August 2007,LDK Solar Breaks Ground on Polysilicon Production Plant
The polysilicon production plant is located adjacent to LDK's current solar wafer manufacturing facilities in Xinyu City,China. Attending the original ceremony on August 18, 2007 hosted by Mr. Xiaofeng Peng, Founder,Chairman and CEO were the honorable guest Mr. Xinxiong Wu, Governor of Jiangxi Province with many other honorable guests from Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, the U.S., Europe, India and other parts of the world.

LDK is committed and has a vested interest to build and operate a safe and environmentally friendly polysilicon plant. We are implementing the latest proven technology from the west. We are utilizing a vent gas recovery system that will recycle and convert silicon tetrachloride (STC) back to TCS for consumption.
We are building a state-of the-art polysilicon plant. Once completed our plant will have a totally closed loop system where the majority of the potential waste (STC) will be recycled.
