Your photovoltaic (PV) installation is a valuable possession. When purchasing or investing in a PV installation, there is always a slight risk that the installation could become damaged or even stolen. Replacement or repair would naturally involve costs which you may not have budgeted for.

We at LDK Solar think it is a good idea for you to take out adequate insurance for your PV installation, covering damage due to external causes, loss of production due to these damages, but also an insured warranty and cover against damages due to inherent defect.

This is why we are the first PV company to offer a unique insurance solution at system level. We are proud to be partnering with Solar Insurance & Finance, a fully mandated underwriter of HDI Gerling Netherlands for PV insurances.

Your PV System Insurance

LDK Solar Secure provides customers with an industry leading insurance package combining an operational All Risk Insurance with a Warranty and Inherent Defect Insurance.

The operational All Risk insurance covers general risks of the investor for external disasters like fire, hail, theft, overvoltage, vandalism and snow load.

In addition LDK Solar Secure offers the Inherent Defect Insurance which covers internal disasters like mechanical failure, inherent defect.

Finally, LDK Solar Secure includes a Warranty Insurance which serves as a fully insured backup for LDK Solar product and power warranties on PV modules:
● Module Product warranty of 10 years for material and workmanship
● Module Power warranty of 20 years: gradual power warranty for Value Series, linear power warranty for Professional Series
● Bankruptcy of the manufacturer (module and inverter)

What we offer

LDK Solar Secure is offered for all LDK Solar products of the Value and Professional Series to customers on an individual project basis.

The main features of the insurance are:

● Currently targeted to projects of 300 kWp and above (project size will be reduced over time)
● Available for projects worldwide, except for India and countries where legislation prohibits issuing the Solar PV Insurance. In the USA and Canada, projects should be at least 1 MWp
● Projects value of up to 100 Mio €

Offer for LDK Solar Value Series:

● 1 year operational All Risk Insurance
● 1 year Warranty and Inherent Defect Insurance

Offer for LDK Solar Professional Series:

● 1 year operational All Risk Insurance
● 5 years Warranty and Inherent Defect Insurance
